Softscape / Planting Installation Crew Member
The duties and responsibilities of a Landscape Planting Crew member are assigned by the Crew Foreman and Project Manager, and are all geared toward maintaining a clean, safe and efficient job site while also supporting the overall project.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 – $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
The list of duties and responsibilities on any given day may include the following:
- Cleaning and preparing job sites.
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Digging trenches and holes, raking, compacting earth and backfilling.
- Operating and tending machinery and heavy equipment.
- Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans.
- Installing planting beds including but not limited to edging, plant material, irrigation, mulch, or stone.
- Installing plant material of all sizes, from small pots to large caliper trees.
- Installing drainage
- Keep work vehicle and equipment clean and organized
- Perform such other actives as may be temporarily or permanently assigned
- Ability to act professionally with all team members and when in the presence of clients or other members of external organizations
Skills/Experience Required:
- Preferred Minimum 2-Years Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
Hardscape Foreman - 5 Years Experience Required
We are seeking a Hardscape Foreman/Crew Leader with a minimum 5-years experience, to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating hardscape installation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in, but not limited to, the installation of retaining walls, patios, and steps. This candidate shall possess excellent leadership and supervisory skills. They will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $ 28.00 – $ 35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
Daily Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Operating and tending machinery and heavy equipment.
- Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans.
- Laying out & Installing Hardscape outdoor feature such as (but not limited to) retaining walls, patios, driveways, and steps.
- Ability to act professionally with all team members, especially when in the presence of clients or other members of external organizations.
- Provide training and guidance to junior team members.
- Collaborate with other members of the landscaping team to achieve project goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a landscape foreman.
- Strong knowledge of hardscape installation best practices
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in outdoor environments
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Proficient operation of large equipment such as skid steers and excavators.
- Proficient in operating small equipment such as masonry saws and compactors etc.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
